Smart Science Login

​

Throughout your science classes, you will be directed to work in the Smart Science Virtual Laboratories.

 

  1. To access the labs, you will log on to http://www.smartsciencelab.com/smartscienceserver/servlet/StartSmartScience?STAT=X 

  2. Select your school: VSCHOOLZ

  3. Select your school (2nd drop-down): Calvert Education Services

  4. Select your class from the drop down menu. It will include the name of your teacher.

  5. Select your name and enter your password. Your password will be provided to you in an email from Calvert tech support. If you do not know your password, please email: techsupport@calvertservices.org. They can quickly look it up for you.

  6. Once in,

    • Follow the instructions on each page.  When you have completed one page, move on to the next tab to continue. The “Think” tab will provide a “Warm-Up” Quiz.

    • The “Hypothesize” tab will allow you to select a hypothesis you would like to explore. 

    • The “Explore” tab is where you will see your hypothesis tested. You can go back to the “Hypothesis” tab to select a new hypothesis to explore.

World Languages 

 

In your language classes, you will be directed to work in the Tell Me More language lab. You will need a separate user name and password to log in. This will be sent to you from Calvert tech support.

 

The site is http://www.tellmemoreeducation.com/

 

  1. Once on the site, you will enter your user name and password.

  2. The first time that you log on to Tell Me More/Rosetta Stone, you will be prompted to select your lesson language and click on "Continue". You will only have one lesson language to select as it will correspond to the class that you are taking.

  3. You will then need to confirm the language program. 

  4. You will access your lessons through your Training Catalog.

  5. Select the lesson that you are directed to enter into.

  6. Once you have selected your lesson, you will enter into the activities that need to be completed.

  7. Once you have completed these activities, you will continue to work in your class.  You may find activities in your class that are designed based on what you have practiced in the language lab.

 

Beginning in March 2017, Rosetta Stone will no longer support browser versions older than Internet Explorer 11. Please ensure you are using the latest versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox.

SAS Curriculum Pathways Student Accounts:

​

  • Students do not need to register for an account. You will use the Calvert username which is heard97sent

  • You do not need a password

  • If you have trouble, check the frequency asked questions page or contact your academic coach.

ELA - Course Novels

​

Your English course may require novels that are not included digitally in the course. These can be purchased or rented from your local library. If you are an ATS or Academy family, please check your teacher’s syllabus to determine which novels your course uses.

 

English 1 Semester 1: all texts included digitally within course
English 1 Semester 2: all texts included digitally within course (optional – we will read the full text of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare; you may buy your own print copy if you do not wish to read the whole play online)

English 2 Semester 1: Life of Pi by Yann Martel; Obasan by Joy Kogawa
English 2 Semester 2: all texts included digitally within course (optional – we will read the full text of Macbeth by William Shakespeare; you may buy your own print copy if you do not wish to read the whole play online)

English 3 Semester 1: The Red Badge of Courage by Stephen Crane

English 3 Semester 2: The Crucible by Arthur Miller

English 4 Semester 1: all texts included digitally within course (optional – we will read the full text of Hamlet by William Shakespeare; you may buy your own print copy if you do not wish to read the whole play online)

English 4 Semester 2: all texts included digitally within course (optional – we will read the full text of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley; you may buy your own print copy if you do not wish to read the whole novel online)

 

Social Studies

 

In your social studies classes, you may use a third-party website called SAS Curriculum Pathways.

 

​If you are working in any class and are directed to work in SAS Curriculum Pathways (www.sascurriculumpathways.com) you will use the user name "heard97sent" and will not need a password.

Electives

​

If you are taking Health or Personal Fitness, you may receive a pop-up asking you to log into the FYI site.  You do not need credentials, but you may need to set your browser to accept FYI which is the source for these classes.
